Wanted a dangling earring that wasn't a hoop or just a strand of something. Saw these in black and they fit the bill. In person, they're super cool too. They feel stable, I've worn them several times and haven't worried about the triangle falling off the flat base. The back fits a little tight but after a minute I don't notice.
